Peter Jackson's Kind Kong and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones boosted Ubisoft sales during the holiday season according to company official. Ubisoft announced that it has posted record Q3 financials today. However, it revised its full year forecast that shows a slowing games market.

Sales for the Ubisoft's Q3 were a record $305.7 million. This is an impressive jump of 35% from $226 million in the same period last year. The increase in the first 9 months only on sales was 29% at $492.7 million.
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot said;
2005 was another successful year. We gained additional market share and further strengthened the Ubisoft brand: Prince of Persia is increasingly recognized as the reference for action/adventure games and Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie set new standards of quality, making Ubisoft a must-have partner for license holders. With years of continuous progress behind us, we ranked third independent publisher in Europe in 2005 and fifth in North America. Ubisoft is now established as one of the major players in our industry with highly valuable assets.
However, Ubisoft put a dampener in the feel-good-factor of gamers who were riding high with Ubisoft's killer apps. It announced that it would delay the release of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent from spring to September 2006. Now, that's something we really didn't want to hear.
