Once again a study performed on the effects of video games on minds of gamers by Vincent Mathews, a professor of radiology at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis has said that the playing violent video-games can severely damage your cerebral system. The research carried by professor quips; playing violent video games can turn teen gamers more aggressive as compared to the gamers who play non-violent games. The violent games can affect the emotional arouse while lessen the ability of self-control.

It is few days past that the video-games have been blamed for violent acts like in Scholl secondary school in Germany where a student of just 18 created a panic in school campus by killing 32 students. The convict was ex-student of the same school and was found addicted of playing war games. Playing war games has been supposed the reason for performing such violent deeds.

Proff. Mathews performed the test with 44 teen gamers, fewest of which played some violent games like Medal of Honor: Frontline while others played non-violent games like Need for Speed: Underground for about 30 minutes. With the help of functional magnetic resonance imaging to record tiny metabolic changes in brain activity he marked it out that the teens who played violent games sowed more activation in the amygdale, the portion which is responsible for emotional arousal and a smaller activity in the prefrontal portions of the brain associated with self-control while the gamers who played non-violent games showed lesser rouse in the same portion.

Then the gamers were asked to perform some task which portrayed some fluctuation in their blood pressure, etc.

Before this many times the bans are being said to be imposed on the video games like Bully, Grand Auto Theft, etc.

To indict the highly entertaining games for such a small reason would certainly be a folly because the video games are said to be the true entertainer of teenagers who don’t prefer outdoors. To spot games as a culprit on the basis of a trail done with few handfuls of gamers wouldn’t be a wise move because the games like PS3 are helping the medical sciences sturdily by unknotting the mystery of complex protein structures to cure fatal diseases like cancer etc. Even psychiatrists themselves recommend students to play video games during examination period to overcome from deep depression stage that are highly responsible for the suicide practices among students.

Germany carnage issue was also laden on the shoulders of violent video games saying that the perpetrate was crazy of playing war games and oftenly he used to play games like Counter Strike, Paintball and Laser tag. However that was just a supposition not firm reason for commencing such move.

If researches say video games are nurturing violence in teen gamers then this thesis is also factual that the playing video games augment the IQ of teen gamers.
