Well, it is no secret that there is a group of people out there, who are mainly game haters, who keep on singing the violent game song in an effort to kill gaming. They won't accept that because if they did, they would be kicked on the sideways for making such an atrocious statement. Hence, they are using the ghost of violent games as an excuse to ban games altogether.
It is a common sight these days that whenever there is a TV argument on violent games, clips from games like Grand Theft Auto and 25 to Life are repeatedly shown. But is that a fair assessment of the gaming industry?
Just like Kill Bill and Natural Born Killers oozing violence cannot be used as tools to assess all the movie, GTA and 25 to Life cannot be used to assess all the game titles.
The arguments on TV are actually painting gaming as a very dark activity by many, especially in the conservative American household. However, that is only one side of the story.
Did you know that violent games compose less than 1% of all the gaming titles? Only a miniscule part of the titles that are sold each year has sexual and violent themes. So much so, that it is actually lesser than the percentage of movies that come out of Hollywood with sexual or violent themes or innuendos.
So the question to be asked to the game-baiters is what is their real agenda when they keep flogging the media and other propaganda machineries at their disposals with the violent and sexual game titles.
