Where mighty superheroes – Wolverine, Riddick etc. – fell THQ’s UFC has succeeded. It has managed to send Wii Fit packing down the pecking order on UK videogame sales’ chart. UFC 2009: Undisputed now sits pretty at the top of videogames’ sales this past week; it has entered at No.1 on All Formats All Prices videogame chart. The nature of beating that Wii Fit has taken has left it teetering not at second or third spot, but at number four on the list. Pokémon Platinum and EA Sports Active (in a weird sort of continuation of fitness mania) occupy other positions in top three respectively. Other spots in top 10 are occupied by the usual good performers, including FIFA 09, CoD: World at War, CoD 4, and so on. Debutants to have made an impact in top 40 last week include Bionic Commando at 14 and Damnation at 35. Meanwhile Punch-Out!! On Wii has failed to make it to top 40 entirely. And the gaming activity is coming thick and fast yet again when inFamous, Terminator: Salvation and Guitar Hero: Metallica hit retailers this week.
