As any developer pops out their console in the market, the gamers at once go for console’s energy consumption tryouts. Few crazy gamers practiced something identical with PS3 and found that PS3 is more energy consuming console as compared to Xbox 360. The energy consumption of PS3 is double (380W) while xbox360 consumes just 160W.
A Wii fan experimented with Wii and compared it with xbox360 power consumption. He found that Wii is economic apparatus that consumes less energy as compared to others there in market. The console is light in weight as well.
The practitioner held the console on work for about a stipulated time-period and found stats; Wii on running any Wii game consumes 17w while for same procedure xbox360 consumes appprox. 160W. The energy consumption in case of Standby Mode, it eats up 10W that is a bit higher than Xbox’s which is 2W. To run Wii with LCD TV it eats 40W and for Idle @ Wii menu, 17W. Xbox 360 uses around 140w for Idle @ Dashboard and 110W while playing DVD.
