If the existing gaming peripherals weren’t enough, Wii has launched the Wii Squeeze, which features rubber handles that can be pressed. The Wii controller will be launched next year and the release dates are not confirmed. A gamer would first need to self-calibrate the controller before using by squeezing 50% of his/her maximum strength. The controller could prove to be useful only in certain sports based games and remain useless in other genres. It is nice to see new gaming peripherals being launched but sometimes we wonder how many a gamer would actually need and if most of these peripherals are really necessary to play the game. What we would actually like to see are peripherals that help us interact more with other gamers and also peripherals with an improved interface.
