Last week, we saw the release of Nintendo’s much anticipated Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Wii in Japan. However, a major problem turned up when many people saw that the Game just doesn’t run smoothly or not run at all on their systems. A similar problem cropped up this week in the US as well after the game released there. Most people get an error that says ‘bad disc!’ and sometimes it doesn’t even do that. Nintendo is convinced that the issue lies with the fact that gamers are smoking. Surprising, as it may sound Nintendo claims that the problem is occurring due to dusty or dirty lens and also said that the game ran perfectly wee on a brand new Wii. They claim that the lens is more prone to dust where people have a habit of smoking. So why only with this game one might ask, the answer lies in a double-layer disc which has a large memory capacity that Super Smash Brawl utilizes. It is one of the first kind for the Wii so thats why it is less forgiving of a dirty lens and thats the reason why people did not have any problems running other games on their dusty lens.
The good news here is that Nintendo is offering its customers to send in their systems for servicing, free of cost. Now that’s the kind of courtesy that Nintendo’s customers expect from the company which is known to have goodwill for their customers from a long time.
