Wii to keep speech recognition technology?

Giving a new turn to its features, Nintendo is planning to employ speech recognition technology into Wii games. At GDC, company's middleware developer Takeshi Shimada informed that Nintendo is panning to bring this groundbreaking feature to its next-gen platform Wii (NintendoWorldReport).

NintendoWare is the application that he announced at GDC. He said that the new endeavor is a joint venture of Nintendo and HAL that emulates Wii hardware on the PC so that artists can view an accurate representation of their special effects without loading their code onto a Wii development kit.

He also noted that his group is working on easy-to-incorporate fur-shading middleware and predictive input (so the game can guess what you're about to do based on prior motion). NCL is also looking into the utility of text-to-speech for Wii.

The new venture is quite analogous to the rumor saying microphone peripheral for Wii has been confirmed.

I am confused which one of both is true or pretend to be true''! If it comes out to be true, it would be a milestone achieved by Nintendo after Wii Channel.
