With the recent out cries for data storage, Nintendo seems to finally have gotten the message. On their site they have been seen putting up Job Wanted ads on their site. The job layout reads “Software/Harware Tester” who can execute a “test plan for Wii’s USB devices”. In light of the recent discovery we can expect in the future some availability of external data storages instead of the 512mb Wii internal memory.

Wii responded the the issue by saying;

Consumers have the option of either deleting the game and downloading it again for no additional Wii Points, or transferring the game from Wii to external SD memory card.

This is a great announcement because frankly I’ve been buying a lot of Wii games lately and I’ve sure been racking up the storage usage. Finally Wii is adapting to the customer ideas and pleas. I do hope that they come out with this soon because I won’t be able to play mario cart if they don’t.

Unlike Sony, Nintendo is adapting and reacting to the situation which is fantastic. I was actually starting to believe they wouldn’t do anything about the storage issue but here they are, fixing the problem before it becomes major. Good Job Nintendo.
