If you are a Wii fan, then things could not have gotten more exciting for you than this and that is all the more true if you are living in USA. While the Japanese have had access to the Nintendo channel and its amazing gaming content for some time now, it is now the turn of the Americans to indulge in some gaming action on their television sets. Nintendo is all set to launch its channel in US and it is going to hit the US shores along with the WiiWare.
Nintendo of America will launch a Wii channel that offers downloadable DS titles and information about the company’s games as soon as WiiWare rolls out in the United States next month. Some features of the Nintendo Channel, which was released in Japan last year will be integrated with the games-on-demand service, WiiWare. Since Nintendo won’t provide free demo versions of WiiWare games, the Nintendo Channel is how customers will be able to get a feel for games to help them make purchasing decisions, and that seems to be a pretty clever marketing strategy by the company.
This could mean that exciting times lay ahead for all those Wii maniacs on US soil. Users will be able to log into the online Wii Shopping Channel from the console’s main menu and download the Nintendo Channel application, which will be free. The Nintendo Channel dishes out lists of upcoming games for the Wii and Nintendo DS, which users can sort by release date, publisher, genre, etc. It also allows players to download demo versions of games for the portable Nintendo DS. Since the service is already well and truly in demand in Japan, it should soon become a big hit in the States too and that means that Wii is once again beating its rival consoles to the punch!
