Brining all the speculations to an end, Microsoft finally launched its most anticipated OS Windows Vista on Jan 30th, 2007 in both real as well as virtual world i.e. Second Life, with great pomp and show. Microsoft boasted greatly its new OS that has powerful graphics engine for high resolution graphics.
However, the quality graphics enchanted all the Vista users including gamers as well around the globe but brisk complaints on the part of gamers made Microsoft’s inaugural event a bit ominous as the Second Life inhibitors found some problems in running Vista in Second Life.
Earlier, the gamers were disappointed with Vista’s bad show at some popular FPS games like Half-Life 2, Doom 3 and F.E.A.R that felt a bit uncomfortable with Vista that is also playing a flawed game with online virtual world Second Life.
The whole juncture comes midway due to the unsupportive behavior of graphics drive to Vista with DirectX 10 that needs superior graphics hardware to run the Vista for improved graphics. Same is the problem with games that don’t play smooth on the new OS.
At present, the only graphics hardware compatible with DirectX 10 is the nVidia 8800 series which has got success in extracting the maximum out of DirectX 10-capable applications.
However, Microsoft officials have assured immediate alleviation of the flaw, let’s see when Microsoft will be able to bring back the lots smiles of gamers.
