If you own a PS3 console, then you have many reasons to be cheerful; one of them is Wipeout HD - a download entry in the Wipeout racing franchise coming exclusively to Sony’s next-gen console via PlayStation Store, sometime later this year.
‘Malloc’ over at Maxconsole.net comes with some head-scratching info that confirms the game would come in full HD format, i.e. 1080p running at 60-frames/second when it sees its launch on the alleged platform by the end of this year.
The game comes with some gravity defying combat racing nicely tuned with PS3 controller. Rather than introducing completely a new title, SCE brings a download version in HD format out of the original one. Outlawing the portable trend, the new sequel has exhumed new possibilities that tend to break new grounds on the mightier platform.
Wipeout series that was calling for a resurrection for so long has finally emerged from the shadows of hollow claims with the new integration meant for the Blu-ray owning system.
Few key features of the game are:
• Interactive environments all in stunning quality graphics with fast-paced gameplay
• Single as well as multiplayer online modes with up to eight players capable of competing against each other in a range of online races, across variety of game modes like Single race, Tournament, Elimination and Team vs. Team (2-player team based)
• Gameplay fine-tuned with SIXAXIS controller offering decent controls like you have never experienced before
• Variety of tracks including Chenghou Project, Anulpha Pass, Sebenco Peak, etc and teams including Feisar, Assegai, AG-Systems, Qirex, Piranha, Triakis, Goteki45 and EG-X, plus seven race modes
• Customization option accompanied by an intuitive AI system for epic racing experience, and nine fully-licensed music tracks

Hope, being a PS3 exclusive title, Wipeout HD would live up to expectations of console owners when it debuts by the end of this year.
