Xbox 360 will be launched in Japan on Dec 10. However, it is not going to hit rivals-in-many-spheres Korea before the last week of Feb next year. The Koreans are really not amused because Japan and Korea are neighbouring countries. The Koreans are taking this as some kind of insult.

Also, on Korea's largest online gaming community, the new Xboxes are being traded at 30 percent higher than the US retail price. So the prices may go up even higher once the console is launched in Japan due to black-marketeering and Chinese piracy.
However, a MS Korea representative said;
'It won't be easy for the pirates to duplicate the game titles without expensive equipments; we are also closely collaborating with Sony and the government to fight against piracy.'So are MS and Sony teaming up to combat piracy together? Piracy is a concern for all and the cause to bring rival companies together to join the fight. Nonetheless, if this is true, it would be a sort of irony for this was going to be a fight-to-the-finish next-gen console war.
But I would choose to support this initiative if really taken by the rival companies. Finally, a word for MS. I really didn't like it delaying the launch of Xbox 360 by almost 3 months in Korea from the launch of the same in Japan. Koreans are indeed proud people and even prouder gamers.
