E3 is drawing near by the day and the rumors are coming in thick and fast. And the latest news (if we can indeed call it that) is that Xbox 360 could soon have a 60GB stand alone hard drive. This would sit well with the 60GB Pro Console to be released later this month. Xboxfamily seems to have obtained a copy of an internal memo sent by MS to Gamestop and Blockbuster that hints as much. Obviously a rumored drop in the price of Xbox 360 Pro to $299 also adds some substance to this bit. The memo also hints at a price of $99.99 for “Xbox 360 60GB LIVE Starter Pack” containing: ‘3 months of Xbox Live, Xbox 360 Wired Headset and Xbox 360 Ethernet Cable’. The memo goes on to say that the 20GB HD would be discontinued and the 120GB HD will see a drop in the price to $149.99. Both of these are supposed to occur in September.
