Microsoft has announced the launch of enhanced version of the Xbox360 - Elite in Japan this October. The company is struggling with Xbox360’s dying sales across the country hence, has planned to debut the console in the country a bit early. The developer has set the console for October 11th launch in Japan.

The premium black console with a bigger hard-drive has been priced at ¥47,800 (approx. US$390) that is roughly $100 less than it costs in the US, while the core system will cost around ¥29,800 yen (US$242).
What’s new in the Xbox360 Elite?
• A bigger hard-drive (120GB)
• A wireless controller
• HDMI
• Xbox Live Gold membership
The enhanced versions will help Microsoft earn back the lost ground. This can also be a reason behind lowering the price of Elite in the country (Japan).
Though, the console takes a diminutive lead from its closest rival Sony’s PS3, even then Xbox360 sales has taken a nose-dive worldwide, resulting in deepening the problems of Microsoft.
Microsoft has sold just 122,565 consoles in the first half of this year and Sony 503,554 PS3s, whereas, Nintendo’s Wii is still a top-notch selling 1.78 million Wiis during the same period.
The time since Elite debuted in America (April 28), the sale figures have received a momentum across the region. Certainly, Microsoft might be hoping for the same in Japan as the console hits the store shelves in October.
