Read a very interesting article in Xbox-Scene. It says that sources close to people behind the XLink Kai tunneling software claimed that they were on the verge of announcing a new commercial online gaming network for PSP.
Now we don't know yet whether it would it be a tunneling service or something like Xbox Live or whether it is officially supported by Sony?
The article asks some relevant questions about the current XLink Kai's project like:
a) Why is it a commercial product from a crew which have always contributed free services to the community?
b) Will it get support from game developers?
c) How is it different from the existing Kai PSP support (that will not cease to exist of course and development will continue) - justifying a price tag?
As notable members of Kai's technical team have evaporated over the last few months this story could indeed have some weight.
To tell you folks, I am sure that something like this was on Sony's mind keeping in view of Xbox Live' s immense popularity. I won't be really surprised if Sony goes ahead with officially sponsoring it.
Let's see. If this is true, it would be a wonderful news really.
