The Terminator franchise is set for another episode this summer when Terminator Salvation hits the big screen. And to match the current fad, movie’s release would be accompanied by a game – on all the major platforms, including mobile. Gameloft has announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with The Halcyon Company to develop and publish a game based on Terminator Salvation on cell phones. The game would be released on the iPhone and iPod Touch on May 22. Here’s what Gonzague de Vallois, senior VP (Publishing), Gameloft said:

Tired of that drab white Wii covered in battle scars? Here’s your chance to get a Wii that’s flashy and blinged up just for showing off. A Wii covered in 20,000 Swarovski crystals has been spotted on ebay. The bidding starts at $4,000, which seems rather high for a bunch of lead glass thingies. To justify the price tag, the console features the likeness of Mario and Bowser. Also inscribed is: “The brawl to end them all.” The Wii has been put up by Daniel Jung (a.k.a. koreandj111) to commemorate the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in America exactly a year ago. Daniel had won the item in question last year in a tournament hosted by Nintendo. He has kept his prize in “full mint condition”; or so he says. As an added attraction, Daniel is supplying a copy of the game signed by its director, Masahiro Sakurai. With that all on board, I guess the tag does justify itself, or does it? Either way I couldn’t cough up that kind of cash; not in these times of all (sob, sob). The auction ends on March 19 so perhaps you may be in a position to generate the necessary inflows by then. If so head here.

Can you believe that it’s been 29 years since the first release of Pac-Man? This title is one of the oldest classics that are still played around the globe and in order to celebrate 30th anniversary years of the legendary Pac-Man, Namco wants to bring the classic back and is planning a new Pac-Man game for next year. In the year 2010 our old friend Pac-Man will turn 30, and it would be back in a new avatar promised by Namco, which has teamed up with Hirokazu Yasuhara (former designer, Sonic Team and Naughty Dog). You love Peggle cause its fun and you hate it cause it is damn addictive. This love and hate relationship will move on to Xbox Live Arcade since PopCap has announced that the game would be available on XBLA this Wednesday, March 11. Players would need to dish out 800 Microsoft points or £6.80 for Peggle. The announcement has put to rest the rumor about Peggle being a part of PopCap Arcade compilation that was supposed to hit XBLA sometimes later this month. Peggle would be available on Xbox Live Arcade with a multiplayer mode tagged Peg Party, which would support four players over Xbox Live. Other features on offer would be 720p HD graphics, two player duel mode, local multiplayer, online leaderboards, and downloadable content support for future. Needless to say Peggle is featured as XBLA’s “Game of the Week,” and it would be available for download in all regions. Better accumulate all the points you can by Wednesday!

GamePolitics did a very interesting assignment on Friday. Armed with a handheld digital camera, it headed to the city Hall in Philadelphia. There the Children and Youth Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives was mulling on various ways and means of curbing violence in video games. Among the suggestions was a 5% tax to be levied on sales of violent games; the proceeds would then fund a parental education program. Another measure suggested was a withdrawal of state tax incentives in respect of the companies that create violent games. Of special cause of concern during the proceedings was a line in the Task Force’s report, which says that there might be some positive effects associated with violent games. The video of the proceedings can be viewed after jump.

So we all have our preferences; and download services are not exempted. Direct2Drive is for me but for some others Steam does the trick. And for the latter Burnout Paradise will soon make an appearance on Valve’s service. And this the game will do in the form of an “Ultimate Box”. What the term ‘box’ entails, I’m not quite sure myself. Ostensibly Criterion just takes the game, wraps around all the updates released till date, sprinkles some bonus content, and voila, you have your “Ultimate Box.” This is available on the PC of course, and the online stuff is just around the corner, Criterion has promised in a very brief note posted on its website. Further details would emerge “soon” enough. And if you are getting restless, head to Direct2Drive. I knew we could tinker those likings of yours.

All the game junkies would be well aware that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is en route to a screen adaptation. And to confirm that the work is indeed in progress, Huffington Post has managed to get some (read two) clear photos of a shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal; who, by the way, is cast as Prince Dastan. Jake is seen in full glory of his costume, fans would know that it essentially means little by way of shirts. Anyway female gamers would be happy enough. Disney’s adaptation is being directed by Mike Newell and is about a price, who in conjunction with a rival princess, fights off an angry ruler about to unleash a devastating sandstorm on the world. Starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal are Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley (no less) and Alfred Molina. These images have been long time coming – last time we got a look at Jake was in August 2008 – but have got get us really interested in the shooting. We’ll keep our ears and eyes open for any more leaks from the set. Till then jump for another image.

If you were to take Fudzilla’s words seriously then this is the best time to grab that Xbox 360 Elite as soon it will be dead. Fudzilla claims that Microsoft will soon pull out Xbox 360 Elite from their line as it’s not been selling that well.

According to its reports Microsoft will stop taking new orders in the second quarter and once Elite becomes ‘elite’ to be found then it’ll play a role of limited edition package, much like currently available Resident Evil 5 package. Likewise, these packages will be themed and will come with a title and for higher price than current Xbox 360 Elite. The report also goes onto claim that these packages will only be available in North America and Europe.
