It’s about time, ain’t it! Capcom tested our patience till it simply made us groan with despair, but Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has now been formally announced. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes is scheduled to hit PSN and XBLA this summer. It would cost $14.99 and 1200 MS points respectively depending on your preferred download avenue. Capcom is making sure that gamers’ patience is not tried any further and has made the announcement with an accompanying demo. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was originally released in 2000 on arcades and DreamCast and has been a fan favorite since. Although Capcom hasn’t promised a drastic makeover for the title, it has promised some tweaks to satisfy gamers. Among these are: new filter options for HDTV compatibility, online multiplayer mode for support up to four, chat feature, and a complete cast (unlocked) right from the start…56 superheroes to be precise. Capcom has also pleased several parties by announcing that a demo for the game would be available for download this Thursday; only on PSN though. Button mashing is a matter of time now! Trailer follows.

This week’s offerings as Nintendo’s DLC are nothing if not miscellaneous. Although we don’t have any third-party titles whatsoever, we do have two games creeping from Nintendo’s indigenous library. Cards lovers are in for a special treat as DSiWare plays host to Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics. Meant for 1-8 players, thus one will sell for 500 DSi Points. Also available on DSiWare is Paper Airplane Chase. This action game is meant for 1-2 players and calls upon them to maneuver a paper plane through an increasingly difficult mess. It is selling for 200 Nintendo DSi Points.

First EA Redwood Shores and and A2M tell us that Dante’s Inferno will be making an appearance on PlayStation Portable, and then we get these screens to back it up. Funny world, but we couldn’t have asked for more. Actually we could have asked for screenshots to look more like those on the bigger consoles (read better). However, we’d take the confirmation for the moment. Eurogamer Portugal is the credible source behind these in-game shots and we are eternally in their debt. EA’s action adventure mayhem is all set to hit several platforms next year. Super-sized boss and a massive weapon to wreck destruction, me likey! Second one is after jump. (Here’s to hoping that the portable release gets polished in due time and doesn’t turn out to be a quick scam to make fast money.)

It is now five weeks on the trot that Wii Fit sticks to the top position (individual platforms) on weekly UK sales chart. This means that The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena has failed to wrest the top spot form this hardware bundle despite the former’s strong debut. However, in a week that has shown falling sales across the board, Riddick’s showing has actually been quite good; Wii fit stays on top in spite of its sales sliding by 11 per cent. The Godfather II with a 48 per cent fall in sales drops to the third spot. FIFA 09 and Resident Evil 5 are the other two titles comprising the top five. Other titles in this week’s top 10 on Xbox 360 chart to face significant drop in sales include: Mario Kart Wii (32 per cent), and Professor Layton and the Curious Village (31 percent). The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena did not, however, fare so well on other platform charts. It came in third – behind The Godfather II and Resident Evil – on PS3 chart, while it entered in at a poor eighth position on the PC chart.

Nintendo is sure barking up the wrong tree with its Mother’s Day offering. I mean a mom who’s conscious with the gaming scene, what to say of one who’s cool with the gaming habit, is sure hard to find. Anyway, Nintendo is offering a DS Ltie Bundle for May 10 that’s steeply priced and dressed in all-green. For $159.99 (pre-order price in Canada) you can get your mother a lime green DS Lite, bundled with a copy of Personal Trainer: Cooking, both coming in a neat carrying case (neat for the females that is). Granted, the cooking software and the floral print do tag this one as a “Mother’s Day Bundle”, but other than those this has nothing to please any mother. Needless to say it is kinda heavy on the pocket too, unless every sibling chips in. But hey, buy it, your mom likes it, fair enough, but in case she doesn’t, you only need to get a new carrying case. Hope you’re getting the drift.

I’ve always admired gamers who can remember gazillions of those freakish combo moves. Hard as they are to remember, they are a precondition to success in a fighting enterprise on any console nonetheless. For the millions of less-gifted gamers – who must pause and painstakingly revise combos when they are in middle of a round – ebay has got a magic potion. This potion takes the form of a custom arcade Xbox 360 joystick that has been endowed with a built-in 3.5” LCD screen. And this LCD has been put in expressly to make sure that the gamer need not pause the game again and again to view character moves. All these moves are stored on the 256 MB (expandable up to 4GB) of memory that the joystick possesses. This joystick measures 12″ x 7″ x 3″, weighs 7.5 lbs, and comes with a single USB Port. It is described as: “Built to take industrial abuse,” and yet it manages to look sexy enough. Selling here for US $225, with a host of customization options that cost extra.

EA has finally condescended. Madden NFL has been given its first trailer – featuring Peter Moore – along with names of the athletes that’ll adorn the game’s cover. For the very first time in Madden’s history two athletes will be featured on the game’s cover. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu are the two players set to make an appearance when Madden NFL 10 hits stores on August 14. This year’s installment is promised on Wii “with breath-taking visuals that will captivate the entire family.” The trailer is just an indication of how good the things actually are. Madden NFL 10 will be available for Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Wii, and PSP. John Madden may have moved on but the franchise lives on, possibly bigger-and-better than ever! EA is still mum on any details though. More will follow soon I’m sure. Trailer after jump.

Video Game - Cheat Codes - Video Game Trailers

As the movies show, John Connor ain’t all alone in his fight against the machines. He’s always been partnered by able buddies. On similar lines when Terminator: Salvation goes live on May 19, you’d do well to pick up a trusted friend to fight those evil machines, side-by-side. Yup, the latest trailer of Terminator: Salvation features a co-operative mode that uses split-screen capability. GRIN’s action title is supposed to launch alongside the movie, and this trailer exhibits several other elements from the game. Easy to kill machines in plenty, in case you were wondering! A bonanza for fans of this kinda action, but dizzying for some! Anyway go ahead check it out. By the way, PC gamers won’t be getting the split-screen feature so a 360 purchase is somewhat justified.

Teaser website: a love-hate relationship if ever there was one. And the latest game to join in on the publicity gimmick is Huxley: The Dystopia. This massively multi-player online first-person shooter (MMOFPS) is happening, as testified by Webzen’s endeavor of giving it a dedicated sneak-peek site, along with a flash video showing game footage. Meant for PC and Xbox 360, The Dystopia puts to use the Unreal Engine 3 and things are looking rather gorgeous at these early stages. While the game has not been a release date, the website features a countdown clock that on expiration will animate the site, thereby revealing more content. NHN USA is the company that’s opened up a portion of ijji.com to showcase Huxley: The Dystopia. While we could not have gotten more excited about the title – which, by the way is merging two genres (MMO and FPS) – it is fair to say that this development has gotten us even more hooked. Can’t wait for more to come out!
