I don’t know what the fuss is all about. Sure this Brand Name Style Portable Video Game Console with AV-out and 117 Games looks like a really cheap copy of the PSP but that doesn’t mean we have to diss this thing squarely. I mean think of the cheapskate drunk distant uncle who cannot buy his introverted 8-year old nephew a real PSP for his birthday because he has to spend his 5-figure salary on booze and strippers. If somebody hadn’t gone on and made this doppelganger copy, where would that uncle go for a begrudging hug? Anyway, if you happen to be the cheapskate drunkard uncle yourself, this handheld is quite a bargain. With 5 built-in games, a TV-out composite AV cable and a 112 games cartridge free, the $48.80 fake-PSP is quiet a bargain for you, especially if you’re trying to buy a week’s stay on your distant cousin’s couch by gifting it to her kid.

Yeah, this Xbox 360 case mod really made me think of the beloved croc hunter from Down Under. If he were alive today, I’d certainly have tried to persuade a few fellow fans of the late conservationists to send him this thing as a gift. The creepy yet funny-in-a-way mod is the brainchild of modder dfwmonkie who hand-sculptured the console’s case into the rugged gator hide using innovative stuff from Bondo and coated it with paint and clear-coat to give it that glossy wet, just-crawled-out-of-the-water look. The good thing is that the mod is made from fake lizard-textured material and has a realistic alligator eye popped in place of the power switch and an equally real-looking set of teeth lining the DVD drive. The mod really dares you to face your worst gator fears in order to just start the console and I really think you need nerves of steel to have this thing staring at you while you ‘try’ to play your fav shooter.

The useless chunk of land could be decorated more beautifully by all you Viva Piñata lovers for the colors that the screen shots of the game reveal are astounding. We know that this game has the capability of vowing the tots and the elders alike and the screenshots portend the continuity of the same admiration level. But, I don’t think it would be all about decorating the paradise anymore and there would instead be demons to screw-up the pleasant surrounding. Buy my verdict or not is another question but the suffix ‘trouble in paradise’ is favoring my take for sure. More images after the jump.

A hell lot of news regarding the Nintendo DS Lite these days seem to be surrounding rumors of a revision or upgrade of the hugely popular model. Nintendo have denied any such development so far by sticking to the current model and even launching new games like Guitar Hero: On Tour on the portable console. But that isn’t stopping many DS loyalists from coming out all guns blazing and proposing their own versions of what the new handheld should look like. We went ahead and found some very interesting concepts that fans had proposed and needless to say, at least design wise, we loved the Moto Razr-like design featured above, the best. Of course we won’t know what the real revision, if any, will be the official version Nintendo finally opts for, but if these puppies are anywhere even close to that final design, we’ll have plenty to be happy about anyway.

As you idle away your time on your PSP, think of what else your little handheld could do. Imagination stretched? Well for one you could use it as a torch at night. Not with the screen light though. Just preorder the XCM Magic Night Glow Face Plate especially made for the slim PSPs and you could make it glow at night. An ordinary shell by the day, the XCM Magic Night Glow face plate gives a wonderful radiance in the dark. It is made of material that absorbs natural light during the day and shines using the same at night. Pricing details are not out as yet but the makers are taking orders. Available in a variety of colors these XCM Magic Night Glow Face Plates would be very neat diversion at night. Maybe they’d also come in handy while playing games.
