Sega snares Sports Interactive

football manager

Just as Roman Abramovich took over Chelsea Football Club, Sega has bought Sports Interactive creators of the smash-hit Football Manager games. Simultaneously, it also acquired US developer Secret Level.

However, Sega declined to give any details of the dollars that went into acquiring these two entities.

Naoya Tsurumi, CEO of SEGA Europe said;

Football Manager is an extremely successful brand for SEGA and one of the most significant titles for our European line-up.

He is right because Football Manager has sold over 1.5 million copies on various consoles. Besides this, Sports Interactive with their previous game Championship Manager also has an excellent sale record in the last 10 years or so.
